Temperature Sensor

2024

I created a Room Temperature Monitor that you can place on a wall or desk that when turned on will measure the room’s temperature and if the temperature goes out of the range of 70° F to 75° F then it will set off an alarm and a flashing red light to alert you that it is not the ideal temperature in that room. I used an Arduino powered by a 9 volt battery, and a temperature sensor that sends input to the Arduino. Then the Arduino sends the temperature to the display on a LCD screen so you can read the temperature. Additionally the Arduino will set off the alarm system described earlier. The project was successful with a couple uncontrollable (to an extent) imperfections such as the temperature sensor not perfectly indicating the temperature, and the size or weight of the contraption not being ideal.

This project gave me an opportunity to progress my CAD (Onshape), TinkerCad and Arduino IDE skills, along with many other simple physical engineering practices.
